All forms of emotional and relational stress, including anxiety, depression, or behavioral issues, are simply extensions of everyday human experience. Many of us will experience situations that we may be unable to resolve on our own. A willingness to understand rather than criticize or judge is the first step toward reducing the burden of emotional pain.

The goal of treatment is to learn about what your stressors are trying to tell you and develop and strengthen your personality’s healthy aspects to balance the natural obstacles we all experience at one time or another.

SPECIALTIES INCLUDE

This particular way of relating to one‘s self and the world is associated with regular feelings of sadness, self-criticism and a need to be perfect. When faced with painful life problems such as being rejected or mistreated, these individuals feel that it must be their fault.

In actuality, we all possess multiple selves. These selves generally work as a unit to address needs relative to the context of the moment. Problems arise when these different self aspects cease to relate to
each other harmoniously, which ultimately produces mental confusion, frustration and
unexplained impulsive behavior.

Our family influences the way we interact and communicate with others. Family Therapy is focused on each family member, both individually and as a group. Your specific treatment plan will depend on your family’s circumstance.

For some people, what best describes their relationship with the world, themselves and others, is one of anxiety. Typically, such individuals have no idea what they are anxious about, and describe their daily life as being enveloped in a state of global “free-floating” anxiety.
